Traveling to the Palatinate in mid-October is certainly a good idea. Following a recommendation from our own members, we set off with 35 people to Weingut Christ in Kallstadt.
Already at the welcome sparkling wine reception, we could tell we’d landed in exactly the right place. From the first moment, you notice the passion and expertise with which Dominique and her parents approach their work.
After the warm welcome in the winery courtyard, we set off with Dominique on a short hike into the Kallstadter Saumagen vineyard. Dominique delivered many new impressions with her attentive and enthusiastic manner, and thanks to her comprehensive expertise, no questions remained unanswered.
The hike ended in the early evening at the Saumagen Keller – a rustic inn with hearty Palatinate specialties. Since we’d chosen no fewer than 7 wines during planning, these were now served at the wine tasting.
Our conclusion: The idea of visiting the Palatinate is definitely a good one, and ending up at Weingut Christ is absolutely recommendable. Warm, uncomplicated, down-to-earth, and competent – that’s Weingut Christ.
